Question 835564: Betty gets paid 25¢ per paper to deliver newspaper in her neighborhood. She pays her brother 10¢ per paper to deliver them for her. If Bobby makes $7.80 filling in for Betty, how much money does Betty get to keep for that day?
(This is a weekly homework packet problem. I'm not sure how to solve it or what the question is asking.)

Answer by josmiceli(19441)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You need to find the number of papers that
Booby delivered for Betty
In words:
( total amount that Bobby made ) / ( 10 cents / paper ) = number of papers he delivered
papers delivered
---------------------------------
Now what is Betty's pay for delivering the papers?
cents
-------------------------
Now what is the difference:
( Betty's pay ) - ( what she paid Bobby )

Betty gets to keep $11.70 for the day
( notice that I did all calculations in cents until
the end when I converted to dollars )
