I need help on a proprtion,
2u-3/4u=u-1/u I did cross product method on this one and i got
2u(squared)-3u= 4u (squared)-4u then i isolated the u and the u (squared) and came out with u=2u(squared). I think i did this all right, but i'm not sure what the u would be. I missed this lesson in math becuase i'm on homebound school because of an illness i have. If you can please help me out i would appreciate it. Thank You.
It appears as though you mean: , with . If so, you need to use PARENTHESES next time
u(2u - 3) = 4u(u - 1) ------- Cross-multiplying
------- You're correct up to this point.
2u - 1 = 0 OR u = 0 (ignore)
2u = 1
