It's calculating the number of grams needed of media necessary and the question is: The label of the medium calls for 30g/liter. You only have 7.5g of powdered medium available. How much re-hydrated media will that make?

How is that ratio used? "Rehydrated media"? If you are just trying to use the ratio and without other details, then only the simple proportion seems possible:
