area of rectangle = length(l) times width(w) or
divide both sides by 18

Now lets deal in feet:

Now we have two ratios to deal with:
First, the length
cross multiply
divide both sides by 6
or
------------------------------length scaled down
Next the width
cross multiply
divide both sides by 6
or
-----------------------------width scaled down
