Question 66251: Please help me solve this proportion: The ratio of the measures of three sides of a triangle is 9:8:7, and its perimeter is 144 units. Find the measure of each side of the triangle.

Each side: 9x, 8x, 7x
9x + 8x + 7x = 144
24x = 144
x = 6
9x = 54
8x = 48
7x = 42

Add the proportions:
9+8+7=24
Divide the perimeter by this sum
=6
Go back to individual proportions and multiply each one by 6 to get length of each side.
Example:
Longest side is 9 x 6 =54 units
Do the same for the other two.
