When u have a problem like 7 is 175% of what number. How many places do you have to move the decimal to find the is or the of. ----------------
Let the number be "x".
EQUATION:
175%(x)=7
(175/100) (x) = 7
Multiply both sides by 100 to get:
175x=700
Divide both sides by 175 to get:
x=4
So, 175% of 4 is 7
