You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the ratio of the dextrous to the inept was 3 to 7. If 140 players were trying to make the team, how many were dextrous?
:
Let x = no. of dextrous
then
(140-x) = no. of inept
:
A ratio equation
x%2F%28%28140-x%29%29 = 3%2F7
Cross multiply
7x = 3(140-x)
7x = 420 - 3x
7x + 3x = 420
10x = 420
x = 42 dextrous ones
