Question 540244: you want to enlarge a photo of you and your friend. Right now it dimensions of 4"[width] by 6"[length]. You want for the length of the enlarged photo to be 8".What should the new width be?
Answer by abigal95(2)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
if you want to find the new width you would set up a proportion
4w/6L = w/8L

cross multiply 8 times 4 and then set it equal to 6 times w
32 = 6w
divide 32 by 6 (divide both sides by 6)
32/6 = 6w/6
and then you are left with w = 16/3
