I assume you mean


Start with the given equation.


Cross multiply.


Multiply


Flip the equation.


Now if we increase 'k', then will if we leave 'h' alone (ie don't change 'h')? The answer is "no". So in order for the equation to remain true, the value of 'h' must decrease while 'k' increases


Eg: Let k=10 and h=7. So . Now if k=14 (k just increased by 4), then which means that 'h' decreased by 2.


So in summary, as 'k' increases, 'h' decreases.


Note: This works the other way as well. If 'h' were to increase, then 'k' will decrease to keep the equation true.
