Question 347412: I cant figure out the proportion for: How many minutes are equal to 2 1/3 hours? I'm stuck on how to turn fractions into whole numbers, unfortunately.
Answer by josmiceli(19441) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You can break up 2 1/3 into a whole number, 2
and a fraction, 1/3.
Since there are 60 min in an hour, there are 120 min in 2 hrs
And 1/3 of an hour is 1/3 of 60 min, and that is 20 min
so the answer is 120 + 20 = 140 min in 2 1/3 hrs
