Question 313598: Alice eats 1/4 of a pizza. Bob then eats 1/3 of what is left. Finally, Christine eats 1/2 of the remaining pizza. What proportion of the pizza did they not eat?
Answer by rapaljer(4671) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Alice at 1/4 of the pizza, leaving 3/4 of the pizza. Bob ate 1/3 of 3/4 or 1/4 of the pizza. This leaves 3/4 - 1/4 = 1/2 of the pizza for Christine. Christine ate 1/2 of the 1/2 pizza which leaves 1/4 of the pizza left that they did not eat.
