Question 28957: Hi,
Please help me set this problem up in an algebraic equation. To find the answer is easy, but I don't have a clue how to set it up. Thanks! Here it is: At a milk processing plant 100 lbs. of farm milk are needed to make 8.13 lbs. of nonfat dry milk. To the nearest pound, how many pounds of farm milk are needed to produce 100 lbs. of nonfat dry milk?

Answer by Nate(3500)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x is the symbol for the number that you take to multiply to get the result
100x=8.13
x=(8.13/100)
(8.13/100)(100)= 8.13 lb.
