Question 26677: This Question is hard to understand please help????
An internet company sells CD's for $10 and cassettes for $8. In one hour they sold eight times as many Cd's as cassettes. If their sales totaled $704, how many of each type did they sell?

my answer: 704-10x-8c 10(88)-8c
8-1= $88
704/88=8
10 Cd's and 8 cassettes.
could you please explain to me what I'm doing wrong????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Answer by Paul(988)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
LEt the cassettes be x
Let the CDs be 8x
Cd cost = 10
Cassatte cost = 8
8x+10(8x)=704
8x+80x=704
88x=704
x=8
8(8)=64

Hence, they sold 64 cds and 8 cassattes.
