Question 12642: I need to know how to find 68% of 50 Is there any way you can give me the formula or a way to find the % of whole numbers like that?

Yes, there is indeed a formula, while its not "Technical" its a way you can do any percentage problem you will ever run into.

The 100 never changes, because a percentage is a number compared to 100, the other numbers will vary, you will be given two and need to find the thrid.
Another way to think of this is
Since 68 is your percent, and the problem asks "of 50" you substitute what you know
Now cross multiply
Muliply
Divide both sides by 100

So 34 is 68% of 50. And you can use this formula for any percentage problem you need.
