Question 1205808: Beatriz built a model of a tower using 600 bricks stacked vertically
that are each 0.25 inch tall. The actual tower is 200 feet tall. What is
the scale of her model?
Ⓐ 1 inch = 800 feet
Ⓑ 3 inches = 4 feet
Ⓒ 3 inches = 1 foot
Ⓓ 12 inches = 1 foot
Answer by Theo(13342) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
600 * .25 = 150 inches
the actual tower is 200 feet tall.
the scale is 150 inches divided by 200 feet, or 200 feet divided by 150 inches, depending on how you want to look at it.
200 feet divided by 3 inches = 4/3.
that means 4 feet for every 3 inches.
150 inches divided by 200 feet = 3/4.
that means 3 inches for every 4 feet.
selection B says 3 inches = 4 feet.
that looks right.
go with selection B.
