Question 118035: I been trying to slove this for two days and all I can come up with is how I cross multiply, Well this is the problem n/5=7/4 what I got so far was 35 when I cross multiply. the answer is 8.8 Im thinking I have to divide and when I did I divided 4 into 35 and got 8. if you can please show me how to get the answer dont slove it for me. I have alot of homework in this and I would like to know how to do it.

the problem n/5=7/4
n%2F5 = 7%2F4

Cross multiply and you have:
4n = 5*7
:
4n = 35
:
n = 35%2F4
:
n = 8.75
:

Check in original equation, substitute 8.75 for n
8.75%2F5 = 7%2F4
1.75 = 1.75 confirms our solution

n=35%2F4 Multiply



So our answer is n=35%2F4 which is roughly 8.75
