t + t = 17
multiply by 20, get rid of the denominators
20*t + 20*t = 20(17)
cancel the denominators
4(7t) + 5(6t) = 340
28t + 30t = 340
58t = 340
t = 340/58
t = 5.86 hr or 5 + .86(60) = 5 hrs 52 min
