Question 111695: A LAWYER BILLS HER CLIENT $250 PER HOUR OF SERVICE. IF A CLIENTS CASE REQUIRES 47 HOURS TO COMPLETE, USE PROPORTION TO CALCULATE HOW MUCH THE CLIENT WILL OWE THE LAWYER(INCLUDE TAX).

We may set up our proportion. Put the rate of the lawyer on one side (That's the amount in dollars which she charges over the amount of rime which that amount applies), and put your unknown variable over the amount of time in hours on the other side.
$250/hr = $x/47hrs
This gives us
$250 x 47hrs = $X
X = $11,750
