Question 1044955: Write a complete equation (using the variables x and y) for the line passing through the point (2, 7) and having x-intercept 7.
Answer by Boreal(15235)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The two points are (2,7) and (7,0), the x-intercept.
slope is (0-7)/(7-2)=-7/5
point slope formula
y-0=-7/5(x-7)
y=-(7x/5)+49/5
Check with the two points
x=2, y=-14/5 +49/5=35/5=7
y=0, 7x/5=49/5; x=7
