Question 1029042: A certain brand of soft drink comes in similar bottles of two sizes, the ordinary and family sizes. The ordinary sized-bottle has a height of 15 cm and a volume of 280 cm3. If the family sized bottle has a volume of 750 cm3, what is its height? Answer by Cromlix(4381) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Hi there,
Ordinary sized has a height
of 15 cm and a volume of 280 cm^3
Family sized has volume of 750 cm^3
We have the two volumes which
we use as a ratio.
As we are trying to find the
larger bottle's height we use
the ratio 750/280
We then cube root the ratio.
3√750/280
= 1.388783
Then we multiply the small
bottles height by 1.388783
15 cm x 1.388783
= 20.8 cm
Hope this helps:-)
