Question 1013734: If the width of a rectangle is 144cm, and the perimeter is 7.8 meters, what is the ratio of the width of the rectangle to its length?
I have converted 7.8 meter to 780 cm. Then I solved 780/144. I keep on getting a long decimal. Am I doing it right?
Thank you for helping.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1 meter is equal to 100 centimeters.
7.8 meters is equal to 780 centimeters.
the width of the rectangle is equal to 144 centimeters.
the ratio of the width to the length is equal to 144/780.
your solution will be .1846153846 rounded to the number of digits your display can handle.
the fact that you have a long decimal is not a problem because the numbers don''t divide evenly.
you do seem to have the ratio reversed.
if that's not a typo, it's definitely a problem.
