I am to use a real life situation that follows a linear equation with the independent variable being years. What would the slope tell you about future years?
------------------
Consider the value of a house that is 10,000 now and rises 1500 every year.
EQUATION:
Value = 1500x + 10000
----------------
The slope is 1500 which means "value increases 1500 when x increases one"
