The following integers have squares that fall in the range of 1 to 100:

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10
.
The squares of these integers are 1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36, 49, 64, 81, and 100
.
So in the spectrum of numbers from 1 to 100 inclusive, there are 10 squares (1, 4, 9, 16, 25,
36, 49, 64, 81, and 100). The remaining 90 numbers are not the square of an integer.
