Questions:
5(x-4)-1=-7x+3
Answer:
5(x-4)-1=-7x+3
First remove the parenthesis..
5*x - 5 * 4 - 1 = -7x + 3
==> 5x - 20 - 1 = -7x + 3
==> 5x - 21 = -7x + 3
Add 7x on both sides....
==> 5x - 21 + 7x = -7x + 3 + 7x
==> 12x - 21 = 3
Add 21 on both sides...
==> 12x - 21 + 21 = 3 + 21
==> 12x = 24
Divide both sides by 12.
==>
==> x = 2, which is the required solution.
