Question:

6n - 7 = 2n + 17
Answer:

6n - 7 = 2n + 17

Subtract 2n from both sides.

==> 6n - 7 - 2n = 2n + 17 - 2n

==> 4n - 7 = 17

Add 7 on both sides....

==> 4n - 7 + 7 = 17 + 7

==> 4n = 24

Divide both sides by 4

==>

==> n = 6 , which is the required solution.
