Question 89110: The equation y = 10x � 100 describes the amount of money a class of students might earn from candy bar sales. What are the slope and y-intercept of this line?
I thought it would be on the graph plotted as (-10,0)then (1,10) the slope is 10/1 but I am not sure. This shows 10x as earning 10 off of each 100 sold, thus meaning 10/1 slope. Is this right?

You are reading too much into this problem... when the equation of a line is written in slope/intercept form, you can read the slope and y-intercept right from the equation. you don't need to graph anything. The slope/intercept form for the equation of a line is:

where m is the slope, and b is the y-intercept.
In your problem, you are already given the equation of a line in this form, so you can easily get the slope and y-intercept:

m=slope=10
b=y-intercept=-100
