Question 889879: a group of foysters planted 12 1/2 acres one month and another month 7 3/4. the next summer the fire destroyed 1/3 acres. how many acres remain?
Answer by JulietG(1812)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
12.5 + 7.75 = 20.25 acres planted in 2 months.
If acre was destroyed, then 20.25 - .33 = 19.92 acres remaining.
Or did you perhaps mean that *of* the acres was destroyed?
In that case * = 6 acres destroyed, leaving 13 acres remaining untouched by fire.
