In two dimensions, a line can intersect a triangle in NO points if the line is above or below the triangle and it does not intersect it at all. It can intersect the triangle in ONE point if it just touches a vertex of the triangle. The line can intersect the triangle in TWO points if it crosses the triangle. However, a line CANNOT intersect the triangle in THREE points.
