this forms a right triangle, use the tangent of 30 degrees, the side opposite
is the height (h) of the point where tree was broken
tan(30) = h%2F8
h = .57735 * 8
h = 4.62 meters to the point where the tree broke

You can find the length of part that touches the ground using the cosine of 30. that would be the hypotenuse (H)
cos(30) = 8%2FH
H = 8%2F.866
H = 9.24 meters
