Question 801851: Compute the derivative.
d/dx[(x^3+2x)(x^2-x)]|x=2

Answer by Edwin McCravy(20059)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(x³+2x)(x²-x)|
                |x=2

Use

  u = x³+2x      and      v = x²-x
 = 3x²+2               = 2x-1

(x³+2x)(2x-1) + (x²-x)(3x²+2)|
                          |x=2

(2³+2·2)(2·2-1) + (2²-2)(3·2²+2)

(8+4)(4-1) + (4-2)(3·4+2)

(12)(3) + (2)(12+2)

36 + (2)(14)

36 + 28
