Answer by ankor@dixie-net.com(22740) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
To complete the square divide the coefficient of x by 2 and square it
:
The 1st one, half of 6a is 3a, squared is 9a^2
a) x^2 - 6ax + 9a^2; check this: FOIL the factors (x - 3a)(x - 3a)
:
the 2nd one: (-3/2)^2 = 9/4
b) x^2 - 3x + 9/4; Factors:(x - 3/2)(x - 3/2)
:
this one -5^2
x) x^2 - 10x + 25: factors (x - 5)(x - 5)
