I just wrote my Anatomy and Physiology test on Monday and I just received my grade today by email which was 45%. The test was worth 15%. Does 45% mean I failed or is there some sort of calculation I need to do in order to get the proper grade. I've never gotten a 45% so it doesn't make sense to me!

45% in the test is a fail for the test but does not necessarily mean you failed
the course
Assuming that passing was a 70 and the test was 15% of the grade, find the grade average for the rest of the tests
:
Let x = the average grade for the rest of the course which would be 85% of the course
;
%2885x%2B45%2815%29%29%2F100 = 70
multiply both sides by 100
85x + 675 = 7000
85x = 7000-675
85x = 6325
x = 6375/85
x ~ 75, if you have at least a 75 for the rest of course you will pass
