After that you could simplify the fraction by dividing numerator and denominator by 2, and then you could add the two fractions, because they end up with the same denominator. Luckily you do not need to work hard to find and use a common denominator.

If you need to write on just one line, you need parentheses:
4/(x-4)+4/(2x-8)=6 means
