The distributive property: for all real numbers a, b, c; a(b + c)=ac + ac
now using the distributive property, distribute 12 into the parentheses
so the equation now looks like this: (-12*2a)+(-12*-3b)+(-12*4c)
simplify what is in each (): (-24a)+(+36b)+(-48c) ==> -24a+36b-48c
ANSWER: -24a+36b-48c
