Question 721947: X-y=4
2x+3y=5
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1 x -1 y = 4 .............1
Total value
2 x + 3 y = 5 .............2
Eliminate y
multiply (1)by 3
Multiply (2) by 1
3 x -3 y = 12
2 x + 3 y = 5
Add the two equations
5 x = 17
/ 5
x = 17/ 5
plug value of x in (1)
1 x -1 y = 4
3 -1 y = 4
-1 y = 4 -3
-1 y = 1
y = - 3/ 5
