Question 718004: How do I graph the system below and write its solution:
{2x+y=4
{y=-(1)/(4)x-3
***Note that you can also answer "No solution" or "Infinitely many" solutions***

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
graph the system below and write its solution:
{2x+y=4
{y=-(1)/(4)x-3
------
Solve for "y":
y = -2x + 4
y = (-1/4)x -3
-----------------------
Plot two points for each equation:
y = -2x+4
If x = 0, y = 4 giving you (0,4)
If x = 1, y = 2 giving you (1,2)
Draw the graph thru those two points.
------
y = (-1/4)x-3
If x = 0, y = -3 giving you (0,-3)
If x = 4, y = -4 giving you (4,-4)
Draw the graph thru those two points.
---------------------------------------
