Can you define the variable, write an inequality, and solve the problem. It says:
Susan makes 10% commission on her sales. she aslo receives a salary of $25,600. How much must she sell to receive a total income between $32,500 and $41,900?
let x be the amount that she must sell, then 25600+0.10x would be the amount she'd make which includes her salary plus 10% commission so the inequality would be
subtract 25600 from each portion...you have three portions to this equation
now divide each portion by 0.10 to solve for x
so she'd have to sell somewhere in between those two values.
