Question 695321: (-7,0) (7,6)
Can you explain to me how to find the equation of the line in slope-intercept form and in General form?
Answer by Ave(106) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
First step is always finding the slope
use this formula
-6/-14 simplify
3/7 <- this is your slope
--
now your going to plug in your slope and one of your points into the Point Slope Form:
multiply both sides by 7 to get rid of fractions
7y-42=3(x-7)
7y-42=3x-21 add 42 to both sides
7y=3x+21 standard form is ax+by=c so just arrange this around
<- Standard Form
Solve for y to get slope-intercept form
7y=3x+21 divide by 7
<-Slope-intercept form
