sin^2 + cos^2 = 1

(8/17)^2 + cos^2 = 1

64/289 + cos^2 = 1

cos^2 = 1 - 64/289

cos^2 = 225/289

cos = sqrt(225/289)

cos = 15/17

So cosθ = 15/17
