Question 663038: The question on my homework is
Find the slope of the given line that passes through the given points (3,-2)(3,2)
I got the answer to be 4/0 but if the top of the fraction is positive dose that mean the answer is still undefined? the answer choices are -2/6 2/6 -2/3 2/3 then undefined im just really confused

Answer by josmiceli(19441)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The slope is ( change in y ) / ( change in x )

This is regarded as infinite slope. As a slope gets
larger and larger it approaches a vertical line
The equation of the line that goes through
the 2 given points is . This means that
is the same value no matter what you pick for ,
namely, . It is a vertical line.
I think of as being undefined. I don't think
infinity is undefined. It's not something other than
infinity. That's pretty well defined.
