Question 663021: The sum of one third q and 25 is as much as twice q
Answer by ReadingBoosters(3246)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1/3q + 25 = 2q
Combine like terms
25 = 2q - 1/3q
Put q into fractions with common denominator
25 = 2q(3/3) - 1/3q
25 = 6/3q - 1/3q
25 = 5/3q
Divide both sides by 5/3, which is the same as multiplying by 3/5
25(3/5) = q
q = 15
