it would be great if we could just cancel bases, but we can't. For example:
5^3/5^2 = 125/25 = 5. It doesn't equal 3/2.


So, let's evaluate the numerator and denominator, then divide:
16^.75 = 8
16^.25 = 2
So, 8/2 = 4
