Let L be the height of the ladder, then the height of the window is L-1. After moving the ladder 7 feet from the wall the wall the ground and the ladder form a triangle with 90 degrees as the angle at the wall and the ground. Because it is a right triangle . . . L=25. The height of the window is 24 feet.
