Hi,
divide 44,200 between ram and john
so that ram's share at the end of 6years may be equal to john's share at the end of 4 years
rate of interest being 10 per cent compounded yearly
x(1.10)^6 = (44200-x)(1.10)^4
(1.10)^2x = (44200-x)
1.21x = 44200-x
2.21x = 44200
x = $20,000, Ram's principal. John's is $24,200,

Ram's share at the end of 6 years = John's share at the end of 4 years

Since the interest rates are same
the interest rates are same = 10 % their investment will be in the ratio of 6:4
ie 3:2
Ram will have to invest more than John
Total 5 parts of 44200
one part = 44200/5 = 8840
One part = 8840, 2 parts = 17680
Balance will be 44200-17680 = 26520
Ram invests 17680 & john invests 26520
