Question 591377: determine algebraically whether the function f(x)=5x3-2x is even odd, or neither.
Answer by richard1234(7193) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Function is odd
You can do this by finding f(-x) and showing that it is equal to -f(x). Alternatively, you can do this by stating that the sum of two odd functions is an odd function, and y=5x^3 and y=-2x are both odd functions, so f is odd.
