Think of things that adds up to -6 and multiply to 5.
-5 and -1 adds up to -6 and multiply to +5.
So...
(x-5)(x-1) = 0
And we can use the algebraic identity that if x times y = 0, then x OR y OR both must be 0.
x-5 = 0 OR x-1 = 0
x=5 or x=1
