Question 579221: Hi I really need help on this homework problem!
Factor
2x to the power of 2 -x-3
Thank you!

Answer by nerdybill(7384)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2x^2 - x - 3
we can rewrite the above as:
2x^2 +2x-3x - 3
grouping:
(2x^2+2x)-(3x+3)
factoring each group:
2x(x+1)-3(x+1)
(x+1)(2x-3)
