9x-6y=-54
7x+53=y

Substitute for "y" and solve for "x":
9x - 6(7x+53) = -54
-----
9x -42x - 318 = -54
----
-33x = 264
----
x = -8
===============
Solve for "y":
y = 7x+53
y = 4(-8)+53
---
y = -32 + 53
y = 21
---------
Solution: (-8,21)
