How old will penny be when she has lived in Pennsylvania for half of her life?
:
Let x = no. of yrs for her to have lived half her life in Pa
:
x + 16 = (x+39)
x + 16 = .5x + 19.5
x - .5 = 19.5 - 16
.5x = 3.5
Multiply both side by 2
1x = 2(3.5)
x = 7 yrs,
therefore
39 + 7 = 46 yrs old, she will have lived half her life in PA
