u^2-v^2+2v-1

u^2-(v^2-2v+1)

u^2-(v-1)^2

(u-(v-1))(u+(v-1))

(u-v+1)(u+v-1)

So u^2-v^2+2v-1 = (u-v+1)(u+v-1)
